Just passed two hrs ago in UK with 906 pts. All question we're came from here but there are two questions that came from ALI so I advice If you have time study the ALI dump. SIMS are not very hard just read all the post here.

Under computer config-->windows settings-->security setting-->Event Log there are different options like "Retain application log" "Retain security log" "Retain system log" "Retention method for application log" "retaintion method for system log". So you go and modify "retain system log" by double clicking it and checking the box where it says "Define this policy setting" and enter "7" in the "days" box. For other two double click "retention method for application log" and choose "define this policy setting" and then click the option "do not overwrite events (clear log manually)". Follow similar option for "Retention method for security log". Also don't forget to go to "maximum application log size" "maximum security log size" and "maximum system log size" to make each one of equal value.

Hi everyone. Can someone confirm the right answer for this question! Bec I am seeing a different solution in this post.

You are a Network Administrator for ..com.The server is back up to individual digital auto tape. the backup routine as follows:

date time type
SATurday 3:00 Full
Monday 3:00 Diff
Wed 3:00 Diff
Friday 3:00 Diff

The disk hosting the volume that contains the file shares failed at 17:00 on friday.U replace the failed disk with a new disk. You must complete the restore..
I think the right solution is SAT - full then wednesday - diff and friday - incremental.
Can someone confirm this pls. if this is right or wrong. your reply is really much appriciated. some post are doing a different solution.

You only (!) need the Friday incremental and the full backup from Saturday
Explanation:
1. Full backup at Saturday backup all files and reset the archiv bit
2.If you change/write at Sunday a file - SUfile.txt- the archive bit is set
3.Monday differential, backup all files which activ bit ist set - the SUfile.txt
and does not (!) touch the archiv bit
4 If you change/write at Tuesday a file - TUfile.txt- the archive bit is set
5. Wendsday diferential, backup backup all files which activ bit ist set - the SUfile.txt and the TUfile.txt
6. Friday inkemental , backup all files which archive bit is set - SUfile.txt and the TUfile.txt and reset the archive bit.
7. For example if you than write a file the archive bit is set, but this ist the only file which bit is set. If you than do a incremental than only this file is backup. Thats the reason you need for restore in this case that incremental and all incremental since the last full backup
8. In the sim At Froiday morning all achive bits are set because the differential doesn't touch the bits and the incrementall backup all files since Saturday

how long does it take for prometric website to update their test results? i took my test last week and it still shows "pending", is this normal? should i give them a call?

Passed in UK on Friday with a score of 896.

Use this and Ali's dump. All the questions from these 2.

Had 34 questions and 6 sims.

6 Sims were:

1. Driver on Network Adapter is not working, SO YOU ROLL BACK DRIVER.

2. A user Max is going away for a month, SO YOU DISABLE HIS COMPUTER.

3. Which 2 drives can you take away, and the volume will still work. SO YOU CAN TAKE AWAY DRIVES 6 AND 7, AS THESE WERE RAID 1 AND RAID 5 (FAULT TOLERANT).

4. A disk fails so you to need to back up. SO DO IN THIS ORDER: SATURDAYS FULL BACKUP, WEDNESDAY'S DIFFERNTIAL AND FRIDAYS INCREMENTAL. (i know for this one, people were doing it wrong but this is the right way)

5. Change bandwidth of internal website, allow a certain number of connections and change port. PRACTICE ON IIS, THIS IS NOT HARD AT ALL.

6. Application, Security and System logs needed to be retained using GPO. ONCE AGAIN WITH PRACTICE AT HOME, THIS IS EASY.

i have question . m having problem with this sim . cn any one solve it for me .

A disk fails on friday and u need to restore from backup. saturday is full backup, monday is differential, wednesday is differential, and Friday is incremental. Do the backup in this order. .

i think the order would be
- saturday full backup
-wedensday diffrential
-friday incremental

anyone who can confirm it?????
