Ferose, thanks for your sims, however, you realize of course that there are some mistakes in them?

1. In the 'reset password' sim, you need first to go to the Account tab in the user properties and uncheck the box that says 'Account is locked out'.
Then, reset his password.

2. In the 'terminal service', i didn't understand why you felt it necessary to check the 'override user settings' box. the sim did not ask it.

If you doing things that you were not ask to do, you could fail.

In all, thank you for you time, Ferose, you did a wonderful thing.

q n : 5 dont convert it to dynamic disk doesnt support thats a trick from ISC !!!!!! dynamic = volumes and fault taulerant , basic = logical, partition ,extended ! To create a new logical drive, right-click free space on an extended partition where you want to create the logical drive, and then click New Logical Drive done ! And borce here is a link where u can see some sims online but not the exams 1 just to get u around windows 2003 server :

brasco oh thx i know but don't worry this que isn't in the exam i just add that from huran and i hadn't read it iam sorry u are right dynamic disk doesnt support logical drives this que is X
all the simulations i add it there in the exam but number 10 is A diffrent que is about disk management but so easy chose the answer ( 7&8) disks those disks mean of 2 hard fail the server will continue after the restart or somthing like that :)

I just passed today in NL, these dumps are so good but there are around 8 simulations came to my test all were out of.

1. Change the bandwidth of the InternalWeb site to 2Mb/s. Allowed number of connections to 200 and port to 8010. the Mb/s meant bits per second because the bandwidth needs to be specified in kilo bytes(2048kb/s).
Start>Programs>Admin Tools>Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager>click the radio button of Server1>
click Radio button of Web site>Right click Default Web Site>Properties>Click Web site>
On TCP/IP Port--Change 80 to 8010 > Then Click Performance>
Check Limit the network bandwidth available to this Web site>Type "2048" >
then under Web site connections, check connections limited to: and type 200.>apply >Ok> File and Exit.

2. we have to lock user computer for one month as user was out of station so that nobody can use his computer.
3. Application, security and system logs have to be retained from GPO. Security log has to be set to be overwritten in 7 days, where as applications and systems logs need to be deleted manually.
-gpo for the domain: go to computer configuration - windows settings - security log and then choose retain security log
Under computer config-->windows settings-->security setting-->Event Log there are different options like "Retain application log" "Retain security log" "Retain system log" "Retention method for application log" "retaintion method for system log". So you go and modify "retain system log" by double clicking it and checking the box where it says "Define this policy setting" and enter "7" in the "days" box. For other two double click "retention method for application log" and choose "define this policy setting" and then click the option "do not overwrite events (clear log manually)". Follow similar
4. The driver for network adapter doesn't work. In that case you need to "roll back the driver"
5. Create a logical drive from 160GB HDD. Size of volume to be created 80GB.
(disk management wizard started).Had to convert disk dynamic type 1st.
6. User Wang uses many machines, his profile is saved on network server1, D:Profile. He needs same desktop appearance everywhere. -- AD opens. Type path in there for profile..
7. A software (App1) needs to deployed to a computer in marketing OU. The installer is in serverapp1. Deploy it so that the users have option of installing it from add/remove--- simulation opens gpo,and then you open user con-software setting-software ins.-new pack.-publish
8. disk quota question,you enable quota end set limit 500mb,set warning limit 400 mb,click "deny disk space to users exceeding quota limit,and click quota entries and add user which question want with no limit.
9. Two active directory domains: adatum and contoso. Mr X is an admin in adatum and contoso. Configure so that he is admin in adatum only. I only removed him from Enter. Admin, i don't know if i should have remove him from Domain Admin(which i didn't) since he is DnsAdmin in both adatum and contoso.com, then add him back to adatum.com as DnsAdmin

10. A disk fails on friday and u need to restore from backup. saturday is full backup, monday is differential, wednesday is differential, and Friday is incremental. Do the backup in this order.

Passed 28 nov with 925 score. Russia.
Almost all questions were from this dump but about 3-5 were new.
Prepare for sims well!

I had a new sim that hasn't been described here:
Company has 2 offices London adn Denwer - 2 domains, 1 forest.
You are admin in London office.
A temprorary employee is in London office in finance department. You create an account for him. You need to add him to corresponding groups to achieve following targets:
1. He needs to receive all e-mail, that comes to finance department.
2. Due to company policy temprorary users should not be unable to delegate his rights to anyone.
3. Mail comes only from London and Denwer.

In sim you act in account properties window. I examined group list, except standart i found 4 groups :
Finance Global Security
Finance Domain Local Security
Finance global distr
Finance dl distr

As far as i know distr groups are used in exchange for e-mail lists.
I added him to Global distr and global security groups.

ans: read carefully the qn with "friday, wednesday and monday option" of this dump.

2. modify user account
ans: user gone for vacation

3. terminal server
ans: try for managing idle session, active session and disconnect session time

4. user1 is admin of a.com but can also access b.com. Assign user for a.com only
ans: not sure. I removed user membership from enterprise admin

5. create 80gb logical partition
ans: create 80gb logical partition (80*1024 value used)

6. software deploy
ans: assign the software using gpo

7. quota management
ans: create 500mb for restricting and 400mb for warning

8. software raid
ans: not sure. I selected third option

9. set event viewer policy for logging
ans: retain log for system 7 days, manual clear the log of application and security.

you must prevent andrew from loggin any terminal server

In my case with this sim, in the User Properties, Teminal Services Profiles tab, check the box: Deny this user permissions to log on to any Terminal Server, so this user can not connect to any server by using Terminal services

the solution was :
. I only removed him from Enter. Admin, i don't know if i should have remove him from Domain Admin(which i didn't) since he is DnsAdmin in both adatum and contoso.com, then add him back to adatum.com as DnsAdmin.

The anwer is right, this sim was in my test: the sim will pop up the user properties (I forget the user's name) you click on Member Of tab then remove Enter. Admin.

Yesterday, I passed this exam in UK (30+10sims), majority of questeions were from this dump but I would suggest to go thru with ali as well. Re. Sims, only 3 of them came from here which mentioned here but rest were all new and tricky.

. I only removed him from Enter. Admin, i don't know if i should have remove him from Domain Admin(which i didn't) since he is DnsAdmin in both adatum and contoso.com, then add him back to adatum.com as DnsAdmin

Hi Avner
you almost reach it, all you have to do is to select the unallocated space and Step 1:
Right click it and choose New Partition and click Next then choose Extended partition"instead of Primary Partition" then press next then press next again(this will make all the disk 160GB extended drive" and then press finish.
now you have 160GB free space.
Step 2 :
Right click it and choose New logical drive and press Next then Next again then type 80 in the partition size in MB and press Next again and press Next again and then Finish.

this all when you want to create a logical drive inside an extended partition from unallocated partition.
if you have already extended partition just jump to step 2.

WHAT is really my question is this correct from the beginning or you can create a primary partition with 80GB from the unallocated space by following "step 2" straight,without going through Step 1 first.

"Disk Management - Add new logical volume of (80 GB) from 160GB disk"

how can i do that?

I know the beginning:

Start => Right click on My Computer => Manage => Storage => Disk Management

This is where i get stuck.

Help please, this sim is going to be in the exam.

- the simulation is :
you must prevent andrew from loggin any terminal server

the solution is :
i remove him from sales group,because in the question sales members can establish remote connection.

hi all..

i want to know that do ISC mail out the welcome kit (certificates) to candidate's home after completing mcsa certification or not..

i got information from somewhere that ISC no longer mail out certificates.. we just have to download it from mcp login site and take print out of that.. is it true..???
