It seems that there are some people here who don't want to help others, just because they different from them.

did get the odd question also that was not in this dump. just about scraped through a pass.but then I only started studying last night, and relied on my knowledge to fill the gaps. I'd say exluding the sims 90% of these questions came up.

@Anaconda's heart: That user is a member of lot of admin groups including Enterprise Admin. I believe when you are an enterprise admin you have admin access to both the domains. So I removed him from the enterprise admin membership. I don't know if this was the correct thing to do coz in real life you have the option of hit and trial, right? However, I passed the exam so I guess you could do that too. ;)

@Mark: The question was: You need to have same log size and retention setting for logs for all file servers to meet the requirement: system, security, and application logs should be retained. Systems logs should be retained for 7 days and other logs should be cleared manually.
They will show you a screen of Group Policy console. Under computer config-->windows settings-->security setting-->Event Log there are different options like "Retain application log" "Retain security log" "Retain system log" "Retention method for application log" "retaintion method for system log". So you go and modify "retain system log" by double clicking it and checking the box where it says "Define this policy setting" and enter "7" in the "days" box. For other two double click "retention method for application log" and choose "define this policy setting" and then click the option "do not overwrite events (clear log manually)". Follow similar option for "Retention method for security log". Also don't forget to go to "maximum application log size" "maximum security log size" and "maximum system log size" to make each one of equal value.

I passed the exam this morning with a 906 this morning.
Still valid in U.S.
I got the same questions ddaniel mentioned.
SIMS included restoring back ups,
disabling a computer so that no one else could log on, creating a software package using GPO->User Configuration-> Software..create a software package and PUBLISH, modify AUDIT settings for security, app and system log.

hi, passed yday 15/10/09 in UK 40 questions 9 sims out of them. all questions were from this dump except 2, which are in ali's dump i think. One of them was which disks can fail without data loss, the answer is 6,7 just as Huckleberry said. The other was something like: the Server1 was backed up by an application on Comp1 how can you open the log. a) By event viewer the log from Server1 b) By event viewer the log from Comp1 c) By notepad the log from Server1 d) By notepad the log from Comp1. I wast sure what the correct answer was..
The sims were similar to those were mentioned in recent comments.

for this;
7. A software needs to deployed to a computer in marketing OU. The installer is in serverapp1. Deploy it so that the users have option of installing it from add/remove
you have to create the PACKAGE and PUBLISH it. once you PUBLISH it, the end user can install it using ADD/REMOVE Programs.

There was one more simulation that I forgot to mention in my last post. It was to create a roaming profile for a user. It will say that Mr. xyz needs to create a roaming profile. His profile is to be located in //server1/profile share. When you open the simulation it will take you to the user account properties. still valid in Melb, I passed today with 900. I got 46 questions including 6 simulations. The questions are quite similar with 2 to 3 new ones. Simulations are totally different. I got simulations for Disk Mng, Performance counter log, NTFS permission, Software Deployment, Performance Alert or sth and one more that I forgot. They are not so difficult to be done. Gluck guys. Passe today with the help of this practice sets. Most of the questions were from the set except for two. One of them was which disks could be taken out from 8 disks. Answer was 6 & 7 because one of them is mirrored and the other is in Raid 5. The simulations were:
1. Change the bandwidth of the InternalWeb site to 2Mb/s. Allowed number of connections to 200 and port to 8010. I didn't know if Mb/s meant bits per second or bytes/sec because the bandwidh needs to be specified in kilo bytes.
2. Max Stevens goes out of office for a month. So you need to prevent other users from logging to his computer (which is Max-PC) by using least administrative effort. (I disabled the computer..let me know if there was more to it)
3. Application, security and system logs have to be retained from GPO. Security log has to be set to be overwritten in 7 days, where as applications and systems logs need to be deleted manually.
4. In advanced security options there is special permissions for "authenticated users". You need to make sure that they don't get any write permission or permission to create folders/subfolders. (Click on edit and uncheck those options)
5. The driver for network adapter doesn't work. In that case you need to "roll back the driver"
6. Two active directory domains: adatum and contoso. Mr X is an admin in adatum and contoso. Configure so that he is admin in adatum only.
7. A software needs to deployed to a computer in marketing OU. The installer is in \serverapp1. Deploy it so that the users have option of installing it from add/remove
8. A disk fails on friday and u need to restore from backup. saturday is full backup, monday is differential, wednesday is differential, and Friday is incremental.

Simulations may seem to be daunting at first. But take your time. They are simple in the sense that the simulation does not allow you to wander elsewhere. You are confined to the areas where you can get the answers. So plplaying around will do the trick.
